Hosted at All Saints Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi, this special event offers an intimate look into the lives of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming teens navigating today’s complex social and political landscape.
Drawing from a year spent traveling across the country and hundreds of hours of interviews, Lang shares deeply human stories that move beyond headlines and talking points, revealing what it truly means to grow up trans in America. Through a short reading, moderated conversation, and audience Q&A, attendees will explore themes of resilience, identity, family, and joy in turbulent times.

Nico Lang is a nonbinary, award-winning journalist whose work has appeared in The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Washington Post, The Guardian, Esquire, and many other major outlets. They are the creator of Queer News Daily and a recipient of numerous honors, including a GLAAD Media Award and the Visibility Award from the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund, recognizing their transformative impact on LGBTQ+ journalism.
This event centers the voices too often left out of public debate, young people simply trying to live their lives, finish their homework, and figure out who they’re taking to prom.
