Today’s @kspaceartlab at @kspacecontemporary brought together local youth for an immersive, hands-on exploration of color and color theory with acrylic paints. Led by David Hill, a professor of art, participants moved from concept to creation, learning how colors interact, blend, and transform on canvas.

From guided discussion to individual expression, the room was filled with focus, curiosity, and moments of discovery. Seeing each piece come together, and then displayed side by side, was a powerful reminder of what happens when young people are given space, tools, and encouragement to create.

This marks the second installment of our collaborative Art Lab series, designed to provide free, inclusive, and engaging creative opportunities for youth in our community.

We’re just getting started. Join us next month as we continue building this series and expanding access to the arts.

On International Women’s Day, neighbors, advocates, and organizations from across the Coastal Bend gathered at Cole Park, marching together from the north end to Oleander Point in a powerful demonstration of solidarity and shared purpose.

The March for Equality, organized by @coastalbendprogressives, brought together many community partners including @allsaints_cc, @buggbarn, @stonewalldems361, Council Member Sylvia Campos, Pride Corpus Christi, and many others who continue working every day to build a more inclusive Coastal Bend.

Moments like these remind us that progress happens when communities stand together, lift one another up, and remain committed to equality for all.

Thank you to everyone who marched, supported, and helped make today possible.

We’re incredibly grateful to Astound Broadband and their Grande Cares program for their generous $2,700 donation to The Mosaic Project of South Texas.

These funds will directly support inclusive programming for LGBTQ+ youth across the Coastal Bend and help us expand our Art Lab collaboration with K Space Contemporary, ensuring these workshops remain completely free for participants through the remainder of the year.

Grande Cares is powered by Astound employees who voluntarily contribute a portion of their paychecks to uplift local community organizations and that kind of people-powered generosity truly matters.

Astound has also been a sponsor of our Pride Parade & Block Party for several years, and we’re thankful for their continued partnership and commitment to helping make the Coastal Bend a more inclusive place to live. Thank you to everyone who joined us at @thecookieplotbooks today and helped support a local, LGBTQ+-affirming business. On this beautiful afternoon, more than 45 community members came together, and we were able to distribute over 50 free LGBTQ+ books thanks to the generosity of Penguin Random House.

This gathering is part of our monthly social series, created to build community and uplift one another through friendship, mutual support; and today, very delicious carbohydrates. We’re grateful for every conversation, every connection, and every person who showed up to make this space feel welcoming and full of care. We look forward to seeing you at the next one.

We’re excited to launch our first-ever Art Lab collaboration with K Space Contemporary, a refreshed monthly series designed to provide inclusive art workshops for Coastal Bend youth (ages 13–18).

Supported by our parent nonprofit, The Mosaic Project of South Texas, these labs are designed to remove barriers to access by offering free, welcoming creative spaces where all young people can explore art, build confidence, and connect with community.

Our inaugural session, Clayful Expressions: Sculpting Hands, was led today by Mariana Ruvalcaba Cruz @mruvalcabac_art ; huge thanks to Mariana for contributing her time and talent to support our youth.

This program builds on the foundation of last year’s Art Out Loud collaboration with Art Center of Corpus Christi and represents an exciting next chapter in expanding youth-centered creative opportunities alongside Pride Corpus Christi.

Pride Corpus Christi invites the community to come together for a casual Boba Tea Social at @chateatx in Portland, a welcoming local spot known for its handcrafted boba teas and desserts.

After a turbulent start to the year, this gathering is an opportunity to reconnect, support one another, and simply be in community. There is no formal program, just space to slow down, share conversation, and enjoy a good drink together.

Cha x Cha x Cha Tea will be hosting us from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Sunday, January 25, and community members are encouraged to stop by at any point during that time.

The Parade & Block Party this year reflected something powerful: Pride is not going anywhere in the Coastal Bend.

What you see in this recap is a community that stands strong and refuses to be pushed to the margins. Pride Corpus Christi is home to a vibrant network of LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies, including professionals, artists, creatives, entertainers, musicians, and countless others who continue to show up for visibility, for connection, and for one another.

If you are LGBTQIA+ or an ally, know this: you are part of a thriving, welcoming, and supportive community right here in our city. Pride lives here year-round, and it grows because of the people who believe in the power of authenticity and unity.
