Dear Prospective Sponsor,
Entering our 9th year, Pride Corpus Christi remains deeply committed to empowering, uplifting, and advocating for our vibrant LGBTQIA+ community. Amid growing local and national challenges, your support is essential in sustaining our tradition of Pride month events, impactful initiatives, and bedrock of community partnerships.
Our mission has never been more crucial as we work to counter recent discriminatory actions within our community. Locally, public libraries have faced censorship from their very own advisory board, driving the effort to label LGBTQIA+ affirming books as “sexually explicit,” effectively erasing representation. Additionally, institutions like Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi, whose core responsibility is to foster an educational environment, have adopted exclusionary policies, barring drag performances on campus and furthering oppression of LGBTQIA+ artists. As if that wasn’t enough, a Texas lawmaker has drafted a bill to essentially make being transgender in employ illegal; reducing one’s access to the inalienable right of the pursuit of happiness.
In protest to these abhorrent behaviors both locally and beyond, we will further strengthen our efforts to combat the marginalization of the LGBTQIA+ community. As a result, we are deepening our inclusion of organizations such as the Coastal Bend Trans Alliance, assisting in their growth and ability to provide vital services and support. Through our parent non-profit, The Mosaic Project of South Texas (TMPST), we have launched clinically-led mental health support groups, a transgender resource initiative to affirm our transgender siblings’ identities, an unbanned book uplink project, an inclusive youth art program and so much more. We are doubling down on our effort to launch transmission of Unity 89.1 FM with new partners who desire equitable success. Lastly, we are furthering the ongoing effort of capturing and preserving LGBTQIA+ history from within the Coastal Bend with Our Community Lives. Without such efforts, our youth live in isolation, without community and often times without support.
During Pride Month in June, we are strategically collaborating with local partners to not only amplify initiatives but foster broader visibility in a fun, safe and affirming environment. We are bringing back many of the Pride Month favorites, including many re-imagined experiences for a more creative celebration. In LGBT History Month, we will proudly continue our tradition of hosting the Pride Parade and Block Party on October 4th—a powerful celebration of diversity, resilience, and community strength deep in the heart of Texas.

Simply stated, we cannot do this without you.
