BOARD ASKS FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON SLOGANS/MOTTOS TO GUIDE PRIDE 2020
February 07, 2020CORPUS CHRISTI) — For PRIDE 2020, the Mosaic Project of South Texas is seeking the community’s assistance in selecting a slogan or motto that will guide and empower the celebration of PRIDE Month (June 2020) and encourage broad support and participation in local PRIDE Week activities (May 31-June 7, 2020). For the next several weeks, the PRIDE Corpus Christi website and Facebook page will seek public input on three English and Spanish concepts. The selected slogan or motto will be prominently used on the PRIDE Corpus Christi website, social media posts and be emblazoned on t-shirts and event signage.
“We want to build off the success we had in 2019,” said Tom Tagliabue, President of the five-year-old organization which puts on the annual PRIDE celebration in the Coastal Bend. “Because 2020 is an election year, a Census year and we’re still fighting for equality, justice, and acceptance in the eyes of the law, the slogans and mottos touch on those important themes.”
The three slogan and mottos being considered are:
Vision of our Future/La Visión de Nuestro Futuro
Our Voices Count/Nuestras Voces Cuentan
Stand Out, Stand Proud/Destácate, Enorgullécete
Feedback is being solicited on pridecorpuschristi.com and through the PRIDE Corpus Christi Facebook page through March 13, 2020. For information on upcoming PRIDE Month and PRIDE Week activities go to the website and Facebook page.
