Celebrating Trans Day of Visibility: Affirming Our Commitment and Support

Today, we proudly join communities around the globe in celebrating Trans Day of Visibility—a day dedicated to recognizing, honoring, and uplifting the transgender community. Pride Corpus Christi reaffirms its unwavering support and commitment to advocating for transgender rights, dignity, and visibility, today and every day.

This year, we’re especially honored that several of our board members—Ema Rodriguez, Kitana Sanchez, Robert Kymes (Vice President), and Jonathan Swindle (President)—were featured in this year’s Trans Day of Visibility PSA video (shown above). Their participation highlights our organization’s ongoing dedication to amplifying transgender voices and standing firm against discrimination.

As part of our ongoing commitment, Pride Corpus Christi continues to collaborate with Strengthening Wellness to offer free, clinically-led mental health support groups specifically for our transgender community. These groups include safe spaces for trans women, trans men, and non-binary individuals, providing essential mental health resources, community connections, and compassionate support to those who need it most.

Additionally, through our Transgender Resource Initiative (TRI), we offer practical support by providing free gender-affirming resources such as binders, packers, breast forms, makeup kits, and binding tape to individuals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend area. Our partnership with the Coastal Bend Trans Alliance strengthens this initiative, directly addressing the critical need for accessible gender-affirming care—especially crucial at a time when transgender rights and identities face increasing attacks from Texas and Federal GOP lawmakers.

We stand resiliently alongside the transgender community, celebrating their courage, resilience, and contributions. Pride Corpus Christi is committed to fostering an inclusive, affirming environment and advocating tirelessly for equity and acceptance.

On this Trans Day of Visibility, we invite you to join us in uplifting transgender voices and reaffirming that visibility matters, advocacy counts, and every individual deserves to be celebrated for who they are.
