Emerging Leader Grand Marshal · 2025 Honorees What is a Emerging Leader Grand Marshal?
The Emerging Leader Grand Marshal highlights the next generation of changemakers—young leaders whose energy, innovation, and commitment inspire hope and ensure the future of our movement.

Conor Rice

At the Texas Capitol, he has testified against school vouchers that drain resources from public schools, spoken out against book bans that silence diverse voices, and stood firmly against attacks on LGBTQIA+ Texans.

In his hometown, Conor led the push for a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policy at Corpus Christi ISD, aiming to make schools a safer, more affirming place for LGBTQIA+ youth. Although the effort was blocked amid state-level attacks on inclusion—and Texas has since gone further by making GSAs illegal—Conor’s advocacy underscored both the urgent need and the uphill battle facing queer youth in South Texas.

From City Hall meetings to statehouse hearings, Conor has built a reputation as a fearless advocate who speaks truth to power, challenges injustice, and amplifies voices too often ignored. His activism is rooted in one belief: South Texas deserves leaders who will fight for every family, every community, and every young person’s right to live with dignity, safety, and freedom.
