by Jonathan Swindle The countdown is on! Pride Corpus Christi’s 10th Annual Pride Parade and Block Party is coming to Water’s Edge Park on October 3, with festivities beginning at 4:30 p.m.
At the center of this year’s celebration will be our Block Party MC, Noel Matthewz York—a performer, business owner, show director and proud member of the Corpus Christi LGBTQIA+ community.
The Block Party stage is familiar territory for Noel, who has performed at the event for the past three years. This year, he’ll step into a new role and command the mic as MC for the first time, bringing his signature confidence, charisma and energy to our milestone celebration.
Born and raised in New York City, Noel has called Texas home for the past six years. The 31-year-old entertainer has been performing for more than three years, captivating audiences with plenty of personality and undeniable stage presence.
Noel currently holds three titles: Mr. Gay Corpus Christi USofA at Large, Mr. Gay Thickening USofA at Large and Mr. Sun God. Every Thursday, he serves as show director at the Hidden Door, helping create memorable nights while celebrating and uplifting local entertainers.
Away from the stage, Noel and his husband own Fashaholics, a business they have operated together for five years. The couple has shared eight wonderful years together and is also raising four adorable fur babies: Oscar, Walter, Milo and Charles.
Last year’s Block Party MC, Gemini B. York, will also return for this year’s celebration—this time as part of our performance lineup. We can’t wait to welcome Gemini back to the stage and see Noel take the lead behind the microphone.
With his experience onstage, his passion for entertainment and his deep connection to our community, Noel is the perfect person to guide us through this milestone celebration.
