Join Pride Corpus Christi for a special community movie night at The Hidden Door as we present the acclaimed film Brokeback Mountain. This free screening offers an opportunity to experience one of the most powerful LGBTQIA+ love stories ever brought to the screen in a welcoming, community-centered environment.
To make the evening even more fun, we’ll have a snow cone machine and popcorn available so you can settle in and enjoy the film with friends, neighbors, and members of the community.
This screening is also a participatory art event organized in partnership with Seattle-based visual artist Natalie Woodlock. During the screening, guests will receive handkerchiefs and be invited to write down the scenes that moved them to tears. After the film, the name of each person who sheds tears will be embroidered onto their handkerchief, and illustrations of the scenes that brought viewers to tears will be included in Woodlock’s forthcoming artist book Tearjerker.
This will be a first-of-its-kind movie night at The Hidden Door, blending film, community, and participatory art into a shared experience.
Bring a friend, grab some popcorn, and join us for an unforgettable evening celebrating LGBTQIA+ storytelling.
