Generations: An Evening with LGBTQ+ Elders of the Coastal Bend

Pride Corpus Christi invites LGBTQ+ seniors, caregivers, advocates, and allies to Generations, the first community forum in our organization’s history dedicated entirely to the experiences, needs, and futures of LGBTQ+ elders across the Coastal Bend.

Hosted in partnership with All Saints Episcopal Church, this two-hour evening will bring together three meaningful conversations under one roof:

First, we will share findings from the University of Texas at San Antonio’s recently completed needs assessment of LGBTQ+ seniors across the South Texas region; the most comprehensive look to date at the resources, gaps, and lived realities facing our aging community members. These findings will help shape how Pride Corpus Christi, and our partners, design programming and advocacy in the years ahead.

Second, we will unveil the next chapter of Our Community Lives, our ongoing LGBTQ+ history time capsule and oral history archive. Attendees who wish to share their stories are invited to participate in onsite recordings and interviews throughout the evening; a quiet, dignified space will be reserved for those who would like to contribute their voice to the permanent archive. Walk-ins are welcome; no preparation is required.

Third, and perhaps most importantly, we want to hear from you. We will be gathering direct input on the kinds of programming, gatherings, and services our LGBTQ+ seniors are looking for, from social events and educational forums to wellness resources and intergenerational connection. Your answers will directly shape the Pride Corpus Christi events calendar moving forward.

Light refreshments will be provided. The venue is accessible, and the evening is free and open to all.
