Event Details

Join the Coastal Bend Pride Center, a project of the Coastal Bend Wellness Foundation, for a night of celebration and festivities at the first ever Coastal Bend Pride Center Gayla! This event will take place at the Omni Hotel in downtown Corpus Christi on Friday, October 20, 2023. Our guest entertainers will be the Howl at the Moon dueling piano company!

The Coastal Bend Pride Center is constantly finding new ways to support our local LGBTQ+ community. Our newest venture is to create a one of a kind scholarship program. Incoming college freshmen to masters level students will soon be able to apply for a $5000 or $2500 scholarship provided by the Coastal Bend Pride Center. We understand that education is the key to success in our world, so we are committed to helping as many students achieve their education goals as we can. Funds for this program will come directly from our inaugural Coastal Bend Pride Center Gayla through donations, corporate sponsorships, ticket sales, and the silent auction sales.

Coastal Bend Pride Center

The Coastal Bend Pride Center is a cornerstone for the LGBTQIA+ community in the Corpus Christi area and beyond, offering an inclusive safe space and a variety of crucial services. Established as the first and only LGBTQIA+ community center south of San Antonio, the Pride Center extends its reach to 12 counties within the Coastal Bend region. It focuses on nurturing a supportive environment through its social and support groups tailored to diverse needs, including those of youth, families, and the wider LGBTQIA+ population.

The Center’s dedication to mental health is evident in its counseling services, which cover a spectrum from individual to family therapy. They have a commitment to supporting the community\'s well-being, both mental and physical, with health screenings, HIV/STD prevention and education, and offering connections to LGBTQIA+-friendly healthcare providers.

Education and empowerment are also key missions of the Pride Center. They provide educational resources and training, aiming to increase LGBTQIA+ cultural competency and history awareness. The Pride Center actively hosts and organizes community events and programming to foster learning, networking, and advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights and well-being.

Furthermore, the Pride Center\'s involvement goes beyond providing services. They engage in community outreach and education to the general public and health providers, ensuring a broader impact for their advocacy and support initiatives.
